Alexander Smith

ALEXANDER SMITH is the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Masters’ Athletes (TTAMA). He holds an Executive Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Sport Management and has extensive experience in sport administration in both the public and private sectors. He was the coordinator of the first (and second) ever UCI Class 1 International Indoor Cycling events hosted by a private entity in Trinidad and Tobago (PSL Fire on Wheels – 2018 & 2019).

Mr. Smith served as Manager NGB Training & Development at the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SPORTT) from 2012 to 2018. There he provided administrative management services and staff development training programmes in support of building organisational capacity as well as athlete and coach development programmes.

Alexander Smith also holds a Diploma in Track and Field Training, obtained at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.

A background in Physical Education Teaching (twenty-seven years) has allowed Mr. Smith to design, develop, evaluate and monitor the implementation of the Physical Education curriculum in primary and secondary schools in the Turks and Caicos Islands as well as his native Trinidad and Tobago.
