Professor Oscar Mwaanga

Professor Oscar Mwaanga is an educator, advocate, mentor, social-entrepreneur and innovator. He is the chairman of the Zambian Institute of Sport and the Programme Director of the International Sport Management Programme at University of London and an Emeritus Associate Professor with Solent University (UK).
He is also the co-founder of EduMove Limited (UK), EduSport Foundation (Zambia) and the lead Sport Policy consultant with the African Union. He is also an international speaker, visiting scholar and fellow at a global institutions including University of Tsukuba (Japan), World Academy of Sport (Australia) and Pan African University (Nigeria).
Having inspired the founding of a number of world-renowned Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) programmes (including Kicking AIDS Out, Go Sisters, Umutima network), Oscar is recognized as one of the 21st century global leaders of the recent SDP movement.
His recent work focuses on researching and advocacy for the Physically Active Teaching & Learning (PATL) pedagogy, decolonisation of Higher Education (HE) and Sport for Development (SfD) as leadership development and mentorship of the next generation of leaders and managers in HE and SfD.
