A change and development advocate with over twenty (20) years of experience working in different environments that utilized diverse approaches to social transformation all focused towards contributing to the progressive development of people and communities. His work has engaged key demographic groups including children, young people, men and families.
Ravi is also a Sport for Development practitioner, having employed sport as a key element within many of the social and community development initiatives that he has worked in. He strongly believes that apart from being able to make positive contributions to the social circumstances of people and communities, sport as a tool for development can also be used as a vehicle for resistance and social change, which was the key theme of his postgraduate research.
A qualified football coach, Ravi has been coaching children’s football since 1999. He himself has also enjoyed played the game for over 25 years at both a competitive and recreational level.
The opportunity to serve on the Steering Committee for the fifth Caribbean Development Partnership Forum has allowed him to share his ideas as well as develop a more informed perspective about sport as a vehicle for sustainable development.
